Intro to Slacking (Presidio) — Thursday, Aug. 7 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Join Sports Basement expert, Damon for an intro to the fun sport of slack lining. Slacking is the art of balancing on a rope usually suspended between trees or poles. In this workshop you will learn basic line set up, equipment needed, tree preservation and safety issues. We will set up a line in the store so you can give this thrilling activity a try!

Expedition: South Pole (Presidio) Wednesday, Aug. 20 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Join world class polar explorer Doug Stoup as he recounts his recent 673-mile trip across Antarctica to the South Pole, Doug will give you the inside story on his 47 day journey across the frozen icecap, traversing some of the world’s largest crevasse fields, battling 100 knot winds and -40 degree temperatures.
