I hereby condemn myself to a lifetime of solo ping-pong for not getting this post up sooner! Check out FOFLSF (pronounced FAW-fuls and standing for “Friends of FitLifeSF”), The Bitter Show, in Fringefest this Friday and Saturday night. I had the pleasure of catching the show on Friday. Read all about it:
WHAT: This SF Fringe 2008 show reunites members of once-popular San Francisco sketch comedy groups, Please Leave the Bronx and The Fresh Robots (both performed at the first SF Sketchfest), as well as a geniune actor and a pregnant Devil-ette.
What happens after Chuck Norris fights a government-created killing machine, who just happens to be invincible, and then chucks him into a well? Hilarity happens. Then it mows a tasty breakfast burrito. And then it peeks up the skirt of a Jews for Jesus cheerleader. And then it really wants to hear the new Frankie Goes to Hollywood album, the double record one. And then it decides to stop using the word “bush” to talk about a you-know-what because of you-know-who. Hilarity is freaking busy. Plus we guarantee a monster in the well onstage for the entire show, commenting on the hot action.
Bitter Show is a loosely formed group of sketch comics, a pregnant go-go dancer and serious actors thirsty for nug money. There’s a Monster in the Well stars Colin Mahan as Chuck Norris and Stefin Collins as the monster. Featuring Mike Spiegelman, Leslie VanEvery, The Dave and introducing Melinda Bailey as the nurse.
WHEN: Fridays and Saturdays, September 5th and 6th, 12th and 13rd 10PM
WHERE: Off-Market Theater, Stage 205, 965 Mission Street, Second Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103
