This week was week two of 18 on my way to the San Francisco Marathon July 27. And it blew. Royally.
As I mentioned last week, I did ONE stinking workout wrong, then powered through the rest of the week on tired legs and ended up with a supremely tweaked right hip and sore left shin. As such, I was far from compliant with the plan:
Monday: Upper and core, completed
Tuesday: Was to be an 8 mile run, went .15 and then turned back to the car.
Wednesday: Was to be Core Synergytics, but did 60 minutes (YAWN!) on the elliptical (YAWN!) just to get my hip moving some.
Thursday was to be a 10 mile run. Nope, sorry, decided that hopefully 100% rest would have me running again by Sunday.
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Was to be a 5 mile recovery run. Rest, ice, heat, etc. instead.
Sunday: Still feeling pretty much as bad as Monday. Ugh. More ice, more rest.
I am taking ye olde legs out for a spin today. Goal is to get to 4 miles Gallowalking (.25 walk/.75 run x 4.) Then, hopefully, another 4 tomorrow and Thursday and a 10+ miler Sunday, then repeat week one and slowly catch up on miles.
The doctor can’t see me until Wednesday of next week, so my goal is to be fine by then. I think that’s how sports med guys get out of work.

Ouch. Take some time off early in the program so you can get better! You can always rejoin your training plan when you are better. Be careful!
