Smurf’s Modified P90Xish Week One Workouts
<3 SMURF + PRECOR = TLF <3
OK, maybe not, but for as much time as I’ve spent on the nifty machine pictured above this past week, you’d sure think so! This was Week One of another P90X cycle for Rob and a modified cycle for me. I started this cycle at 133 lbs and 22.6% bodyfat and I’d like to get at least to 125 lbs and into the 19-20% range. I think Rob, optimist that he is, set my official goals at 121 lbs and 18% bodyfat. Ha!
But, honestly, my #1 goal is to finish up this sprint in 90 days once again being a healthy runner, ready to monumentally PR at the Bridge to Bridge 12K in early October- celebrating my first racing anniversary! So, here’s what I did this week to get me closer to that goal:
Monday: P90X Chest and Back, Ab Ripper X
Tuesday: 90 Minutes on the Precor AMT (a neato ellipticalish machine that lets you fake a running stride pretty well)
Wednesday: 45 minute intervals on the spin bike + half of P90X Shoulders, Bi’s, Tri’s and Ab Ripper X
Thursday: 90 Minutes on the Precor AMT
Friday: P90X Core Synergistics
Saturday: 3+ hour walk around town
Sunday: Rest
You’ll notice I’m not doing the P90X lower body workouts or Plyo, because I am still healing up my stress fracture. Once I get back to ramping up the running, I’ll be adding in Plyo andthe Building a Better Runner DVDs.
Week one Results: It looks like I’m down from 133 to 130, but I think the 133 was unnaturally high because I’d had super-salty Indian food the day before and have been weighing in regularly at about 129/130 for the past few months, so I think I’m still holding steady.
