FitLifeSF 2011 10 Week Fitness Challenge Begins Jan 3rd

Hello Team FitLifeSF! Welcome to 2011, this year we will help each other start the year with a bang.  It is or 2nd annual FitLifeSF 10 Week Challenge.

Last year, we had some fantastic results, and our very own Smurf won!  (Believe me when I say she worked it hard.  I was so impressed!)

Between 12AM Monday Jan. 3, 2011 and 11:59PM PST Monday Jan. 10, 2011 send a photo of yourself in workout gear with a printout of the day’s homepage from www.SFGate.com (to document the date). Also send a photo of a scale documenting your weight along with the printout. Email both your photos and a brief description of your goals to rob@fitlifesf.com. You probably want to take a set of measurements as well to document your progress.  (I’ll post instructions for the measurements you want to take in the comments so you can cut and paste them for yourself.  It is great to have start and finish numbers)

For the next 1o weeks, do whatever it takes to get in the best shape possible.  (As long as it is healthy)  We’re happy to work with you to find/develop a program, and Smurf is offering coaching to participants as time allows. (She’ll be playing along at home, but won’t be competing this year.)

By 11:59 PM PST on Friday, March 11, send another set of photos (you in the same outfit + photo documenting your weight on a scale.)

50% of scoring will be based on percentage of weight lost. 50% will be based on visual change.  We’ll find impartial third parties to do the judging to keep things fair.

The 2011 Challenge Champion will be announced on Friday, March 18.

The winner gets $150 worth of Beach Body Products from FitLifeSF*! Runners-up and honorable mentions get a selection of other prizes and goodies.  But, EVERYBODY WINS if we do this thing right and get that much closer to reaching our goals. (*We’re also open to companies providing product, so if you want to be a prize sponsor in exchange for mentions here, please contact smurf@fitlifesf.com)

Some random stuff:

  • Yeah, I know it would be easy to cheat and stuff your pockets with buckshot or whatever to pad your numbers, but we’re counting on you to not be a douche.
  • We’ll be in touch throughout the contest period to check in with folks and likely do a few mid-contest updates on how everyone is doing.
  • We won’t publish your “before” photo without your permission.
  • As per norm, there are bound to be a few unforeseen questions. This contest is just something we thought would be fun to keep everybody challenged and get a kickstart on killing their goals in 2011.  See previous point about “we’re counting on you to not be a douche.”  We’ll work with the group to keep things fair and make sure everyone is comfortable.
