Want to Get Your Feet Wet with a Tri?

I’ll admit, a triathlon sounds kind of appealing to me.  Then again, I don’t think I remember how to ride a bike and every time I see the Team in Training folks swimming at Aquatic Park, I question their sanity.  But, hey!  What are extreme acts of fitness for if not making others question our sanity?

Well, if you have found yourself interested in undertaking a triathlon, Sports Basement Presido has an event just for you:

Thursday, Dec. 18, 6:30-7:30PM

Sports Basement Presidio

“There’s a Monster in the Well” at SF Fringe Fest

I hereby condemn myself to a lifetime of solo ping-pong for not getting this post up sooner! Check out FOFLSF (pronounced FAW-fuls and standing for “Friends of FitLifeSF”), The Bitter Show, in Fringefest this Friday and Saturday night. I had the pleasure of catching the show on Friday. Read all about it:

I’m officially all bibbed up!

I just signed up for my first race ever, the Glide Floss Bridge to Bridge 12K, which is taking place on October 5.  According to Runner’s World magazine, it is one of the most scenic runs in the country, starting at The Ferry Building (under the Bay Bridge, for those who like things spelled out) and heading down the EMB, through Fisherman’s Wharf, through the Marina Green and Chrissy Field to the Presidio (under the Golden Gate Bridge, for those of you who still need your morning coffee.)  The timing is right in line with where I need to be distance-wise to consider the US Half Marathon on November 2, and just days before we leave for Sherri and AT’s wedding in New Orleans, so I’ll feel (hopefully!) all fit and accomplished heading into a debaucherous week.

In other news, I am down a really solid 5 pounds since starting with the nutritionist.  Looking forward to being down 10 by the US Half Marathon and then getting rid of the last 5 before the end of the year!  It is tough going sometimes, but is becoming second nature.  It’s still the lure of quality cocktails that is the hardest to resist.
