For anyone intrigued by my Bootcamp posts, but not ready to make the commitment and shell out the money…now’s your chance to try it out for free. Here’s the details:
Free BootCamp class this Saturday in the Marina
We are partnering with lululemon athletica in Cow Hollow on Union Street to offer a free demo BootCampSF class this Saturday, June 14th beginning at 8:30am and ending at 10am. We will start and end at the lululemon store (1981 Union Street between Laguna and Buchanan Streets).
Current BootCampers are welcome and encouraged to attend this class (it will be a regular BootCamp class) led by Kerry Coulter and Megan Keeley, our lovely Marina instructors. It’s your chance to finally get in a Saturday workout without the trek to Ocean Beach!

You’ve been running, lifting weights, asana-ing and jack-jumping until you can’t take it any more–so put some go-go in your step! The MiniSkirt Mob, a spinoff off The Devil-Ettes, is looking for new recruits for the upcoming Prom Party Au Go-Go! Yes, it’s free. Yes, it’s for women AND men. And yes, you get to take a free go-go class with San Francisco’s Sweethearts!
Here’s the idea: Show up for a free go-go class on June 19 (tentative schedule right now, but I’ll let you know for sure very soon!); learn a quick-and-easy routine; come to the Prom Party on June 26th; and at some point, emerge from the crowd, flash-mob style, and go-go with The Devil-Ettes! You’ll also learn how to freestyle go-go and boogie down with us for a few more numbers.
I’ve done it before, and it’s loads of fun! And for the FitLifers, it’s most definitely a workout. If you’d like to join The MiniSkirt Mob, e-mail The Spitfire at spitfire.a.go.go@gmail.com. If you just want to come to the Prom Party, get your tickets now!
Not a bad Satuday afternoon, if I do say so myself. We had 10 of us at FitLifeSF HQ, where 6 peeps did their fitness test. I’d say that was the highlight, but as fun as it was, the BBQ was way better!
Grilled Chicken, Dry Rub BBQ Brisket, grilled veggies! Best put: It was DAMN tasty!
Thanks for everyone who made it! We have decided to make this a montly event! We will announce the next fitness test for early July, later this month. So, stay tuned, and let us know if you want to join us!
(We are considering doing the test at the top of Bernal Hill!)

Ok Peeps, the first ever all viewer fitness test is going to happen this weekend! I am shooting for Saturday afternoon. Anyone local who wants to get together to do these with Smurf and I, well contact us and let us know you want to come by.
I warn you, this is a workout in itself. I’ll post the test so we can all post our results!
(You will need measuring tape, a pull up bar, a floor, a wall, a stop watch and heart rate monitor [optional]) We will also be busting out the calipers to do body fat checks!
Mother Nature wants you to get up off the couch this weekend and shake a tail feather!

This Saturday, May 17th at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, Ca, Cage Combat Fighting Championships presents "Mayhem ." This series of MMA bouts is uniquely important as a friend, training buddy, and all around great guy Ben "the Butcher" Gerrett has his second professional fight scheduled. His first fight, and win by knockout, was at this Indian casino a little bit south of LA. It was Smurf’s first ever live fight, and I dare say that our favorite little pacifist had a ball!
Hey Gang,
If you haven’t gotten over to check out the FitLifeSF Events page, we are trying to keep it updated with events you folks might be interested in. These do not need to be Fitness-related, so go ahead and add yours to the comment string. (We are looking into ways to make the events feature a little more user-friendly, but it will involve me spending a nice evening cozied up to WordPress for Dummies.)
