So, it is 4 days since I got back on the workout wagon

I am feeling pretty good, but it is VERY humbling.  Sunday at Sambo, my butt was pretty kicked after working out hard for 1.5 hrs.  (I can usually kick ass for at least 2 hrs or so)  The last 3 days have been pretty telling too.  Sure I am not in terrible shape, but great conditioning goes away pretty quickly.  (If you call 45 days pretty quickly)  Everything I am doing seems to be sub par.  My stamina is shot!

So.  I have to focus on the important things.  Getting back into the groove.  Getting my body used to working out consistently again.  And most importantly, fueling my body the right way.  (healthy eats, and getting enough rest)

We all struggle with this, and the only way to get better is to strengthen my resolve, not make excuses, and keep doing what needs to be done.  I have to keep pushing play (Or getting my workouts in), I have to not let life get in the way (Make time for the important things), and not beat myself up for slipping.  (It is human)

I get to see how my conditioning is improving.  Sambo tomorrow night at 7PM, but before that, a bit of Yoga.

The last day of the 1st week of Insanity.

Ok. This week of workouts was close to unreal. I don’t care if it is cross fit or some uber personal trainer, you are not going to get your ass kicked they way Shaun T. kicks your ass.

Insanity is the perfect companion to P90X as it is the cardio focus that P90X is missing. I do own P90X, Insanity and the Tony Horton One on One’s, and now, I am set for the next 5 years of workouts! (Maybe Longer) I have in my personal collection, the perfect selection of hardcore routines to mix and match as I please. I can do them as they have laid them out, or substitute routines to create weeks from hell!

This is AWESOME. And I get to do all this from home! As a former gym rat, I am thrilled! I really love my life!

Day 5 Insanity. Pure Cardio.

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! This was SICK! When I finished, I found myself chanting over and over, “That’s not right. No. That’s not right.”

Why?

Well because after the 10 minutes sick warm up and a nice stretch, there comes 15 minutes of brutality. Be afraid, be very afraid!

What a work out. Oh MY!

Ok, it hit me! Life after P90X!

Today I am officially 3 weeks from finishing my latest cycle of P90X.  I am calling it quits 3 weeks early and I am OK with that.

I have been forcing myself to work out the last week or so, where I usually am looking forward to getting to the house and crushing a whatever workout is scheduled for the day.  It hit me today like a ton of bricks.  I AM SICK OF DOING P90X WORKOUTS!  I need to really mix things up, and do something completely different.

For the record, it has been almost 2 straight years of doing P90X and it took that long for me to burn out.  Impressive!  And even more impressive is that I keep seeing gains and improvements in my fitness level.  Verdict is; P90X Works!  But what next?
