Ok people, this has been a BIG question on our site, and we decided to take the comments off our other posts, and move them to a easy to find place.
The great thing about P90X is that choosing between the Classic or Lean workout is very simple, and if you want to see different results, switching from one to the other is just as simple.
Please post any questions you might have on this subject here. Be sure to read below, as Smurf and I have responded to many comments on this subject!

This has been a crazy several weeks. After going to Ukraine to train with Igor Kurinnoy, I came back about 13 pounds lighter than when I arrived. (I had hurt my knee about 3 weeks before the trip, and decided to take it easy and eat out for dinner almost every day, this took me from 209 to 217 before the trip) What I though was going to be a Sambo camp, turned out to be a Sambo Conditioning Camp. This was designed to not only improve our Sambo skills, but to get us competition ready. (Yeah, it was brutal)
So, instead of coming home (after 2 days of eating, drinking and travel, I weighed in at 204.5 and 15.5% body fat) and slacking, I decided on starting a new P90X cycle on June 1st. (and it was a Monday, made it really easy) The big difference this time is that I have been staying very close to the recommended P90X diet. (There have been a couple of slip ups, but nothing crazy. I am way more in the diet than off)

Week 1 down and the only mishap was me not getting Yoga X in. I was thrashed on Thursday after working on a work project all day (until 10:30pm, I know, Crazy!) the rest of the week was just as I planned it out. P90X classic augmented with Sambo on Sunday instead of Saturdays Kenpo X. (Which totally sucks!)
This week, I will hopefully be adding another Sambo work out on Thursday, which means either I do Yoga when I get home late in the evening, or I do Yoga on Daturday. This will eliminate a full recovery day, but I can use it more as a stretching workout than a hard core day. (And yes, yoga can and will kick your ass if you work it right!)
Today was Back and chest again with Ab Ripper X thrown in. I improved on all my reps, and even Ab Ripper X was easier to do. Woo Hoo! If this keeps up, I may have to change out for the ultimate ab work out. The Tony Horton One on One Abs workout. (It looks BRUTAL!)
Today was Day 1 all over again. After a month and a half of being off cycle, working out only 2- 3 times a week, and eating and drinking life a fiend, it felt good to know I was getting back into the crazy work out cycle which is P90X! This will be Cycle 4 for me. First cycle was P90X Classic, cycle 2 was P90X plus, and cycle 3 was P90X doubles (though I stopped doing the doubles 5 weeks in as it was kicking my ass and taking to much time). So, Cycle 4 is back to Classic with a bit of augmentation.
I am throwing in some different work outs. (Weeks 1-3 will have the following changes) Saturday will be my rest day (So none of that crappy Kenpo X stuff), Sunday will be 2-3 hours of fighting (Yeah SAMBO! Gotta get ready for my trip to Russia in May), Tuesdays will be either Plyometrics or Plyo Legs (Tony Horton One on One, it is BRUTAL) and finally Thursday will either be a fight night (SAMBO) followed by Yoga, or just fighting. Depends on how beat I will be.
So, there you go. The new beginning of my fit life, and this time I am taking more care of my eating habits. Time to make sure I am eating properly and consistently. 5 Meals a day and 2500-2800 calories a day. WOW. A lot of work. Sorry SF Karaoke Mafia, I won’t be out as often as I had in the past.
Oh yeah. SKI season is almost here! WOO HOO!
